Mouse Workshop with Mister Finch Sunday 19th May 2024

Mouse Workshop with Mister Finch Sunday 19th May 2024

£120.00
Why not join me for the day making a Tiny Fabric Mouse!
Please note this is a workshop and not a download or PDF or anything like that..this is a place at my workshop with real people!
This class is best suited to a person who can sew well..it will be tricky for a complete beginner..please bear this in mind when booking.

Wander down a beautiful winding cobbled lane and you will find the oldest working building in Stafford. Within its historic Tudor walls and heavy beams, I am going to be teaching small intimate sewing classes.
The workroom is wonderfully cozy and filled with fantastical objects from my travels.
Each place setting is equipped with all your own tools for the day and your own lighting which you can move and adjust.
Everything you need for a day of stitching your own Mouse is provided. Not only will I show you how I put everything together... share lots of tips... I will show you how to work 'small' and guide you through turning small pieces inside out and help you to make tiny items of clothing.

You are very welcome to bring any precious fabrics or small objects you would like to include on your piece. I want you to go home refreshed and full of ideas with a finished piece...and maybe new friends...how fab would that be? I feel very lucky in that my workshops attract brilliant people and teaching is always such a pleasure to share with you.

I have been wanting to create this kind of workshop for what seems forever.
Your Mouse can be scaled up or down and with the skills learnt on the day. You can make small ones for a Christmas tree or mobiles up to large ones, which would look amazing on bookshelves and table settings. They lend themselves beautifully throughout the seasons.
Your main mouse body will be made from a medium weight cotton fabric and the clothing and accessories can be made from a large stash of rich velvets and heavy fabrics...
Your mouse will be 'small' and will fit in the size of your palm...one of the main focuses of the day is how to work small..please note this. When working smaller it's often the same amount if not more than working to a more normal size..

Hot drinks and biscuits are provided and you are welcome to bring your own lunch or sample one of the many cafes and bars which are all a stones throw from my workshop.

Indeed everything is very local with the train station being only five minutes walk away and so are a few great hotels if you are wanting to stay over.

The building is heavily listed and so unfortunately the toilet is situated on the first floor up some stairs. I want to be able to include everyone and this is something I'm working towards but with it being so old, it's very tricky.

Stafford itself has some lovely sights. If you are walking from the train station you can cut through the park which is just gorgeous especially when the seasons get warmer. Weeping willows trail in swan filled rivers and the air is filled with swooping swallows...cobbled streets..Tudor buildings and plenty of lovely places to eat and drink.

Workshop places are £120 per person.

Cozy and traditional with lovely rooms..it's one of my faves and they make you feel really at home. Perfect.

This place is fantastic and the service and interiors are stunning..it's a real treat and I can't think of a finer place to sip cocktails and marvel at how they have kept the original interiors and welcomed chandeliers and giraffes on board...the staircase alone makes you feel like a millionaire.

For parking there are few to choose from but this is very near to where I work from.
Riverside Undercroft Car Park.

Just a quick note...this workshop is for making a Mouse...please don't come to a workshop and ask to make a life size badger or a huge toadstool or a Panda...I know I shouldn't have to say this but it's happened a few times...many thanks.
It's a structured class with instructions.

Workshop days cannot be swapped around easily..I understand if you cannot make a day as life happens..but I would appreciate enough notice so I can try and fill the position.
Refunds will be given and then you will have to book onto another date if available.
By purchasing a place this means you agree to my terms.
